Saturday, October 5-  Welcome to Boston

Arrive to Boston’s Logan International airport and your coach will be ready to take you to your hotel where we'll receive a warm greeting by our Northeast Unlimited Tours tour director.  This evening, enjoy a wine and cheese reception followed by a delicious welcolme dinner.

Sunday, October 6-   Historic Boston & the Berkshires     

This morning we’ll depart for a guided tour of this Historic and cultural city known fondly as ‘Bean Town’.   Our tour will take us along the Freedom Trail seeing such sites as the Old South Meeting House, Kings Chapel and Burying Ground, Park Street Church and the Old State House. Perhaps we’ll make a picture stop at the Bull and Finch Pub - known to most as “Cheers”.  See the beautiful Boston Common - the oldest public garden in America.  We’ll spend some time at Faneuil Hall for lunch on own and time to browse through the shops.  This afternoon, depart Boston for the Berkshire Hills.  Enjoy the beautiful colors as we travel through the Pioneer Valley to the Berkshires Hills!  Enjoy a visit to the famous Norman Rockwell Museum located in the beautiful town of Stockbridge! This afternoon, check into our hotel.  Take some time to freshen up before dinner this evening.

Monday, October 7-   Apple Barn's 'Taste of Vermont' Experience, Manchester Village & Hildene    
This morning, we’ll depart for Bennington, VT for a visit to the Apple Barn, featured on The Food Network’s $40 a Day, The Travel Channel, and  Good Morning America.  Our ‘Taste of Vermont’ experience includes a narrated tour to the top of their 300-acre orchard for panoramic views of the spectacular scenery of southern Vermont followed by a slice of home made apple pie ala mode and choice of beverage. Continue on to the beautiful village of Manchester for free time to shop, explore and enjoy lunch on our own.  This afternoon, visit Robert Todd Lincoln’s Hildene, home of Abraham Lincoln’s descendants until 1975. Tour the restored 24-room Georgian Revival mansion, hear the 1908 Aeolian Organ and explore the magnificent gardens.  This afternoon, check into our Vermont Inn nestled in the mountains of central Vermont for a two-night stay.  Enjoy a savory dinner this evening.

Tuesday, October 8-   Vermont's Local Flavors


Depart for day of touring around northern Vermont while enjoying the splendid foliage and countryside.  We’ll begin the day with a visit to the Rock of

Ages Granite Quarry. A friendly Quarry guide will step aboard and tour us around the 50-acre, 600 foot deep quarry!  Then it’s on to a traditional Maple Sugar house for a demonstration and syrup tasting along with an opportunity to browse through the gift shop.  This afternoon, we’ll continue on to Waterbury for a visit to the famous Cold Hollow Cider Mill. Watch cider making and enjoy free samples of cider and other Vermont specialty foods! Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure to explore the beautiful village of Stowe.  Enjoy dinner on our own this evening. Stowe has many wonderful dining options to choose from.

Wednesday, October 9-   Mount Washington Hotel Tour & Luncheon and Cog Railway
This morning, depart for the White Mountains of New Hampshire enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. Arrive to the historic Mount Washington Hotel. This hotel, a grand masterpiece of Spanish Renaissance architecture, was a two-year labor of love for 250 master craftsmen. Conceived by industrialist Joseph Stickney, this National Historic Landmark opened in 1902 and immediately became a favorite summer haunt for poets, presidents and princes. Enjoy a guided tour of this magnificent hotel, followed by a delicious  luncheon in the grand dining room.  Then we’ll venture to the Mount Washington Cog Railway Station to board for an unforgettable experience. In 1869, the Cog Railway was an engineering marvel, a technology of toothed cog gears, rack rails and tilted boilers. Enjoy a rare glimpse of this world gone by while enjoying specctacular views as we travel up some of the steepest railroad tracks in existance.  This afternoon we'll check into our hotel for a relaxing two night stay.  Enjoy dinner on our own this evening.

Thursday, October 10-   Lake Winnipesaukee Cruise & Castle in the Clouds

We’ll venture out this morning for another spectacular day of touring through NH’s Lakes Region and White Mountains. Arrive to Weir’s Beach to board the M/S Mount Washington for a scenic cruise on Lake Winnipesaukee; the states largest and most beautiful lake.  Following the cruise, we’ll visit Castle in the clouds; Thomas Plant's spectacular Arts & Crafts mansion built by over 1200 craftsmen at a cost of over $1 million in 1914.  This New Hampshire icon is wonderfully preserved to give a real sense of how country life was lived by the fabulously wealthy at the turn of the century. This afternoon, we’ll tour along one of the country’s most scenic by-ways; The Kancamagus Highway en route back to our hotel.  Enjoy a savory dinner this evening.

Friday, October 11-  Kennebunkport, Ogunquit, York & Lobster Cruise

This morning we’ll depart for ‘downeast’ Maine and begin with a tour of the popular summer resort of Kennebunkport.  Its quaint setting appeals to artists, writers and Presidents.  Enjoy a scenic drive along the ocean to Walker’s Point passing the well-known summer home of past President George HW Bush.  Continue on to the seaside village of Ogunquit - named by the Abenaki Indians meaning, “Beautiful place by the sea”.  Board the ‘Finest Kind’ cruises for a first hand lobstering experience!  Then it’s on to the villages of York with a visit to one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country - Cape Neddick Light, popularly know as “the Nubble”.  Check into our accommodations and take some time to freshen up before partaking in a traditional down east clambake and a chance to try Maine lobster!

Saturday, October 12-   Depart for home

After breakfast this morning, we'll begin our journey home with lingering thoughts of our Taste of New England experience and treasured memories that will last a lifetime.
